JoAnn Kurtz-Ahlers – Founder and President

JoAnn Kurtz-Ahlers is a well-respected 24-year veteran of the hospitality and tourism industry. With over two decades of experience as an industry-leading Vice President of Sales and Marketing for The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, L.L.C., JoAnn founded Kurtz-Ahlers & Associates, L.L.C. based in San Juan Capistrano, California.

Prior to creating her company, she enjoyed a remarkable 15-year career with The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, L.L.C. – including being the first female to achieve a vice presidency in sales and marketing. During her tenure she oversaw both eleven global sales offices, as well as business development worldwide including new and existing properties in Dubai, Spain, Egypt, Qatar and Turkey.

An active promoter of the hospitality industry, serving as past chairman of the Meeting Planners International (MPI) Editorial Committee, and founding board member of the Women’s Leadership Initiative. She has participated as a frequent panelist at industry conferences and seasoned and active leader within MPI. In addition, she he has twice been named one of the “100 Most Powerful Women in Travel” by Travel Agent Magazine and was selected as one of Meeting News’ “25 Most Influential People.”
